The design of the wine cellar and spirits room blends rich materials and textures that evoke the feeling of being transported to different corners of the world. There’s a warm and welcoming atmosphere, as the design draws elements from some of the client’s most favorite traveled places throughout Europe, Asia, and Mexico capturing the charm from these foreign cultures. The space space translates into both a contemporary design language and one that feels old, warm, and inviting in aesthetic.
MRA juxtaposes surfaces, textures, and materials creating stylistic elements. Rich walnut millwork, brass shelving, translucent stone, and mirror coupled with decorative textiles, upholstery and leather creates both a modern and cozy atmosphere. An intricately patterned rug adds a pop of vibrancy within the space, while the mirrored coffered ceilings add depth accentuating the space.
Decorative pendants against the limewashed walls in warm tones create a welcoming backdrop to the hand chosen art pieces from Amsterdam. While a brown heritage leather sofa, that’s both masculine and delicate, are paired with upholstered chairs and a bronze metal coffee table. The furniture creates a comfortable and inviting seating area for guests to relax and enjoy a glass of wine. The shelves are lined with an electric mix of wines from around the world adding to the global feel of the space.
Warm and often hidden accent lighting plays a key role in creating the inviting mood of the room, with strategically placed fixtures highlighting the textures and details of the materials used. Warm golden hues bathe the space in a soft glow, creating a welcoming and intimate atmosphere that encourages guests to linger and savor the experience. The lighting articulates the custom millwork and extensive collection of wine on display, with architectural spots to playfully create ambiance, and concealed backlighting of the stone, fills the space with both a calming and bespoke atmosphere.
Overall this wine cellar and spirts lounge is a unique and inviting space for wine enthusiasts to gather and enjoy the pleasures of the world.
